Surprise....!

It was a lazy, movie-watching, Sunday evening, and I had spent all night feeling unbelievably nauseous. Joey was kind enough to pause the movie about 15 times while I would run to the bathroom feeling like I was going to throw up. Not only was I feeling nauseous, but the weirdest things were happening. I was feeling constantly tired, but I wasn't sick. I could no longer stomach spicy food (my favorite!) and every time I worked out, I felt like I was going to keel over and pass out. Not to mention, I had zero appetite, which is quite unusual for the girl who can usually keep up with her 200+ lb husband...

I started to put the pieces together and had one of those, "It might be, but no way, it couldn't be..." denial moments. I mustered up the little strength I had left and decided to take a pregnancy test...just in case (still assuring myself there was no way).

Less than one minute later, the plus sign arrived. As if I wasn't nauseous enough already! In a state of shock, I walked to the living room, tugged on Joey's tee shirt and told him to follow me to the bathroom. I pointed at the preggo test and his eyes lit up - and I started to bawl my eyes out! I asked Joey to run to the store to get another test (just in case...like those things are ever wrong!) and that one was positive too.

After the shock wore off, reality set in, and we got seriously giddy. Us...a baby. Besides feeling like we are nowhere near ready - although we hear you never are - we are ecstatic!

Join us as we document our little family and (as much as we can) the pregnancy and arrival of Baby West!

We hope this serves as a good mode of communication to keep family and friends both close and far away in the loop on the changes in our lives. Hugs!

J & S
